ORION: origins

FOR GARENA

In this collaboration with Garena, we crafted a series of videos for the launch of Orion, Free Fire's newest villain. These videos follow the character Moco on a mission to uncover the identity of the new antagonist, while offering glimpses into Orioin's intriguing backstory.

the production

For this project, the client supplied us with the 3D models and textures of Moco, Orion, and her hideout.

Ou team develloped all the other aspects of the film from the storyboard stage to the final edit. Our primary challenge was developing the HUD interface in a visually appealing and aesthetically coherent manner, ensuring it seamlessly integrated into the world of Free Fire. Additionally, it was essential to create an engaging design so that we’d be able to present the story from Moco's point of view through the screens.

other design explorations

We experimented a lot with 3 dimentional designs and virtual reality inspired HUDs before we settled for the more 2D based look.

Here are some of the experiments that ended up being abandoned along the way or incorporated to the final design in a more clean approach.

The final approved version adopts a cleaner approach, making it easier for viewers to follow the on-screen elements and engage with the story. Additionally, it provides a more elegant feel to the design.

other assets

Additionally, we developed short films to showcase Orion’s legendary form and his weapons. These assets feature a blend of in-game footage and 3D renders crafted by our team.
